This is the current front cover for Florence and then Machine, I have planned my own CD front cover, by looking at the current cover i can take ideas from it. Also from this i know what is important to put on the cover for example the name of the artist and the name of the album/single, This cover is eyecatching and the colours used are nice and eyecatching. This may be something i want to think about when designing my own cover. I have looked at different genres such as pop and rock and their front covers to establish what not to put onto the cover. e.g. if it would not look right of fit in well in my cover. I will either take photos when filming for the front cover or use still shots from the video when its finished. I know what type of shot i want and excatly what i would like in my cd cover.

Here is my plan

I also have designed my advert. I have looked at adverts for artists and looked at advertisements sfor artists in NME
Here is my plan

I have looked at other adverts for bands and singers to see what they have put in their adverts. I have also researched and thought about what draws people into advertisements.

The first things I notice is that the covers are not at all boring, the artists name is clear and there is an image of the artists on the front cover.I will use the information i have gathered when I design and make my cd cover.

Filming Location: London

Today we went to London to film some scenes for out music video, we shot many different types of shots, close ups, mid shots, long shots, tracking etc. We filmed in Traflagaur Square and also in covent garden, filming went well and according to plan, we shot all of what we intended to shoot, followed our plan and we did shoot a few bits that were not intended but they work, we filmed a lot of footage so that when we come to edit out music video we will have more footage to play with and edit into our video.

As Florence and the Machine is a popular British artist the location of London for some cenes in our video represents Britishness and is patriotic. We shot a scene of our singer dancing with a queens guard which adds fun to our video. We wanted our video to seem fun and exiting.

We have also decided that we will use a member of our group to be the artist in our video. This is good because as a group we can organise when to film etc. and we will not need to rely on other people as sometimes like previous tasks have proven that this does not alwayss work out. We will need to select the right clothing, make up etc. to acheive to acheive the overall look which we want to fit the MES and genre of the song. Here is what the artist looks like of Florence and the Machine...

We looked at music magazines of different genres to help us in our production tasks of creating a cd cover and advert, we looked at NME and Top of the Pops both very different, we did this to see what type of magazine would be best to advetise our music video, and I think the best maazine to suit this would be NME as it has bands and singers of the same genre as Florence and the Machine. If we advertised Florence and the Machine in Top of the Pops it may not be very successful as the type of music advertised in there is very different to those in NME. Top of the Pops show very "cheesy", and maybe obvious singers such as JLS and other boy pop bands like them.

We have made this mind map for our ideas, we also have got a book in which we have all our planning and work in, which will help us when we are filming.
